Four Pillars of Effective Small Schooling

Research shows that small schools are a great option for students. The four pillars of our small school design are:

1. Small Learning Communities

2. Project-Based Learning and     Assessment

3. Social-emotional Learning and     Wellness

4. Individual Advisors and Daily         Advisory Time

The Middle school years are a crucial time in our youth's development.  Adolescents experience a physical and neurological growth spurt, and in addition, the years between 11 and 14 can be challenging socially and emotionally.

Small middle schools can offer a nurturing environment during this important transition time where each student is known well and their academic, and social-emotional learning needs are attended to -- setting them up for success in high school and life beyond.

The Growing Need for Small Middle Schools

Did you know there are almost no public middle school alternatives in Santa Cruz County and no public middle schools that are project-based with daily advisory and social-emotional learning?

If you want this for your child or our community, sign the pledge and show your support.
